 Exams

(A Reality of Indian Education System)

Our Education System is turning us into Mental Slaves, and the proof is EXAMS

From students to teachers all are frustrated with exams. But Why?

What is that one fault in our education system, that needs to be changed as soo as possible?

If we want our students to become better learners, What do we need to do?

Let us understand!
Why Exams makes Fail our Youth!

We're going to implement a New Education Policy.

Problem# 1
No Conceptual Learning

What's wrong with exams? because exams DO NOT focus on conceptual learning. There is a line in the movie - 3 Idiots; Under fear of the whip, Even a circus Lion learns to sit on a chair in fear of the whip, but you call such a lion "Well trained", not "Well educated".  When we heard the line, definitely we clapped loudly, but it has been 13 years since the movie released, Did exam change? Not at all!
People ask, Do we have any other option? are there any better options to evaluate out children?

The answer is

This is called "Bloom's Taxonomy"
This divides out learning process into 6 different stages.
We begin by reading and understanding the things. The focus is on understanding and on application of learnings. and the application of Knowledge is analyzed. the results are evaluated, and the learning process is concluded with creativity.

For Example: Newton's law of motion, we can learn in an open ground instead of in a closed classroom. We can see this in day to day life examples. We are taught this repeatedly that whatever our textbooks says is the absolute truth, but if what is written in the textbook is the truth then why are our textbooks outdated? Why don't we update the method of learning?

Problem# 2
Exam First Mindset

What's wrong with exam? because after we write the exams, we forget everything that we learned. We give so much importance to our exam numbers that this race to get better numbers in exam, students cheat in their exams. The number that you can achieve by cheating, are those number really that genuine? You can cheat in exams! but you can't cheat life! The students who use dishonest methods to pass in exams, they definitely end up failing somewhere in life. because their focus is on Certificate.

The marks you scored in your exams, the number can only take you in the interview stage but whether you will be given a job or not, progress in your job is depends on your skills.

Problem# 3
We are Different

Rahul Dravid is our favorite cricketer, in an interview he said "Exams are not the only way to judge boys and girls". Why did he say that? Every student is not the same type of learner, students can be 1 of 10 different types of learners. Some students learn by experiencing things, some learn by observing others, some students study while listening to music. Just think about it, does our education system give an equal opportunity to all these different types of students? or does it give a preference to students who are good at memorizing things?

We get a horse, fish, tortoise and a tiger to run the same race and then we expect a tortoise to overtake the tiger. The fact is, all of us come from different backgrounds but only one type of learners gets an advantage in exams.

Problem# 4
RAT RACE

What's wrong with exams? because exams teach us competition. No, I don't mean healthy competition, it is comparison based competition. Why? because we never see the number of people behind us, we only see how many people are ahead of us. This attitude keeps us life long unhappy, because we can't tolerate others getting better results. Rather than caring about our marks our family was more concerned about our best friend's marks. This attitude of my parents never improved our marks but definitely it ended up spoiling our friendship.

Problem# 5
Slaves of the System

Our education system was formulated during the industrial Revolution and it has not changed since that time. The society needed smart laborers those times, people who knew how to follow their master's orders. that's why our education system teaches us hierarchy . It forces us to look at the world in a vertical model. Some people have power and some people without power! and our job ? to listen to those who are in power, not question them and to follow the orders we are given quietly.

What's wrong with exams? It make our youth "People Pleasers". Quite literally. This mediocrity needs to end!

This is not an attempt to discourage or demotivate you from studying. for now, the examination system is like this so cribbing about it will not automatically make it better.
but we need to know the flaws of our existing system so that we rise above the system.

having a target is great but while chasing the target, causing long term damage to ourselves with stress is not right at all.

Education can make or break India!

It is essential that we all focus on improving the system, we need to leave behind the exam oriented mindset and accept a perpetual education mindset.

END

British Educated us - Biggest Myth

You know, many people describe India as a rich country where poor people live, but if you look at the history of India, it's very evident that India was Richest Country in the world before the invasions happened to us, both in teams of wealth as well as intellectual. During those period, India used to contribute almost 24% of Global Economy, and in 1947, by the end of the British rule, the percentage dropped down to 4%.      Those who are saying that the British brought infrastructure and development to this country  have some facts before start blabbering, every single aspect of this country as systematically destroyed by the British, and Education tops the list in that.  Imagine the number of time people told that the British came and educated us.  this is the biggest myth.  that needs to be get done away with. if these people have paid any minimum attention in their history classes, they wouldn't be making this kind of idiotic statement in the public program forum.  in 1911

THE KASHMIR FILES

#THEKASHMIRFILES This is a film on the unreported story, the most tragic gut-wrenching genocide of Kashmir Hindus which happened in 1990.  This is not a movie, this is a SLAP (RJ Raunac),  SLAP  on the people who have been ignoring the genocide of Kashmiri pundits still now,  SLAP  on those people who have never let the pain of Kashmiri pundits known to the world till date.  SLAP on those who shout slogans of Azadi but they probably do not know that they have snatched the freedom of the community in their own country.  SLAP  on people who thinks that Kashmir is not a part of India  SLAP  on those who see the Indian army as murderers SLAP  on those who feel that if they have been murdered, they have the right to take up arms and take the path of violence.    The Kashmir Files is a story of two days. Today where people like you and me live and the second is that black day 19th January 1990 a day that Kashmiri Pandits still relive.  That day when they were forced out of their own homes w

Bhagavad Gita - Leadership Lesson

Bhagavad Gita  Become a Great Leader Like MS Dhoni Several months ago, the image above went viral. The Bhagavad Gita was being read by everyone's favorite captain, Dhoni, during a car trip.   What does Bhagvad Gita have to do with becoming a powerful leader like Mahi? What should a leader be like? There is one thing you must have always noticed about Dhoni. He always takes responsibility if India loses a match. He personally talks to the press, taking responsibility for the loss without mentioning any players, and if India win, he hands the trophy over to his team and stands in a corner. It's something about this leader that makes him different from others. Dhoni understood that none of us are as strong as all of us. The Bhagavad gita teaches us the same thing. It explains the difference between a leader and a boss. Boss and leader, these two words sound quite similar but there is a world of difference between them. Whenever you work in an organization, you like to wor
